We are entrepreneurs because we have designed various useful electronics devices for the developing societies.

Our Story

Intro

Due to various problems, Nepal is facing an ample of obstacles and hurdles, including security related problems in urban areas. Thinking that the government alone is not enough to provide citizen with a secure and cozy environment, two brothers made a plan to secure their country with their unique inventions.

About Us

We, twin brother Ram Prasad Rimal and Laxman Prasad Rimal (Ramlaxman), are originally from the remote village of Nuwakot, Nepal. After completing our secondary education from Nuwakot-Madanpur, we moved to the capital city Kathmandu for further education, but we couldn't get any job to sustain our life in the capital.

It was that time when our houseowner asked us to control the water pump switch which is inside our room. We had to switch on the water pump when the overhead tank become empty and had to switch it off when the tank filled. One day the houseowner got really angry because we didn’t switched off the water pump when the overhead tank was spilling over. This made us to think about a more feasible solution for the problem. We designed a very simple mechanical motor controlling device named Ramlaxman Machine to manage the filling of the tank. When we tested the device successfully our houseowner suggested us to develop such devices for her brother and her relatives too. We did and all of the 4 clients were very satisfied, so we decided to register a manufacturing company named Ramlaxman Technology Research.

At first we designed 10 units and started pasting pamphlets in front of electricity bill counters and telephone bill counters. Within a month we installed 10 more units and this gave us some money to organize a press conference to promote our business. This was our first step to go ahead.

We believe that our joint effort and dedication to our work is the key to achieve success in this challenging field.

Our Venture

Most of the developing countries’ human life is becoming more insecure because of theft, loot, accidents etc. Government security is not being sufficient to those rapid forming casual clusters. The streets are too narrow for fire brigades to reach. People are feeling more and more insecure by the day. Therefore it is very essential to form a group in each community to provide community security. To address the problems we designed a device that can alarm all the neighbors in one community by a loud siren if someone in the community needs help. The victim only has to push a code button of his/her mobile phone or landline telephone and the alarm will be set off, alarming all community members so that they can reach out and help the victim within a very short time.

We also provide a stick and a whistle to every community member so that every one can defend themselves and alarm the community if help is needed. Another thing we provide the community with is a copy of a code of conduct to manage the community. The code of conduct explain the fuctioning of the community group, for example if someone initiates a false alarm he should pay a penalty to the community and if someone does not response to an alarm he should also pay a penalty. We also suggest the group to keep at least one fire extinguisher in each community and we provide them with a short training on how to use them.  Our community security system can be installed for 10 households to 100 households and so far we have set up around 400 such communities in Kathmandu Valley.

These guys (Ram Laxman) are of great temperament in terms of working life. I am a happy person that I had chance to share about 5 years of my student life with these brilliant personalities (starting from high school at Nuwakot to PCL level in Kathmandu). They used to do the same things differently from their school era. What they are delivering today is the succession of their long struggle and yield of their continuous efforts and dedications to their projects. I, as a class fellow, admire them as good human and good frens of mine. I wish, they were reached their acme of success in very near future.
