My Story

Intro

The new breed of niche outsourcing companies in India, called Knowledge Process Outsourcers (KPO’s), works high-up in the Indian services value-chain. These KPO’s are, in a way, changing the Indian image of ‘low-cost outsourcing destination'. One of the fast catching new knowledge company, Beans & Intellect, is founded by Anshuman, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai.

About Me

I was born and brought up in Bhagalpur (Bihar) and pursued my bachelor and master degrees at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai.

Five years of college life at IIT had been a roller coaster ride with international travels to Washington, Virginia, Philadelphia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and activities / accolades that includes, among others, selection in 'Future Leaders of Business & Industry' at Lee Iacocca Institute, Pennsylvania.

Upon graduation, a bulge-bracket investment bank selected me for graduate placements in London. Partly because of reluctance and partly because of immigration issues, I stayed put in India preparing for what was my sweetest spot – Entrepreneurship. After working for a year at GlobeOp Financial Services, a hedge fund accounting company, I shifted gears and moved back to the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), at IIT Mumbai for one year of adrenalin rush of entrepreneurship. The pre-incubation opportunity at SINE gave enough time and space to start Beans & Intellect where I assembled scattered idea pieces into right venture perspectives. Since then, I have founded two companies and these days I am preparing for a spin-off venture.

The last 6 years of incessant learning has enthused a sense of responsibility for all my acquaintances and has gone a long way in satisfying my urge to positively affect the lives of people around me. My understanding of business and cultural landscape through extensive traveling adds practical dimension to my interaction with friends and colleagues.

My Venture

Beans & Intellect is India’s only company to provide super specialty treasury solutions for analytics, technology and consulting focused on BFSI, Fund Management and Broad Capital Markets. I founded the company in 2005 and our broad areas of focus include Credit Risk, Market Risk, Compliance & Retail Financial Services across Front, Middle and Back office. Beans & Intellect works at the intersection of high-end treasury business, cutting-edge technologies and sophisticated mathematical modeling targeted to solve an array of very critical and high-impact financial problems making it one of the most unique companies in Asia, Middle East, Australia and Europe.

I believe there is a need for Indian companies to focus dedicatedly on knowledge realms to move steeply ahead in growth curve. 100 such companies will help India to dominate the global business space as a super-specialty knowledge hub achieving the desired purpose of marked differentiation for the country. An industry of such knowledge companies will do well to the Indian economy in the same measure as thousand entrepreneurs do for a country's growth.

I envisage, Beans & Intellect, to be one such Knowledge Company emanating from the Indian soil and challenging the likes of Numerix LLC., Scicomp Inc., SuperDerivatives, Resolution, RiskMetrics etc. I believe, Beans & Intellect is a bold step towards achieving this larger goal. In the next 10 years, we are looking to have full fledged presence in Dubai, Singapore, London, Chicago and Sydney with a team size of around 2,000 employees.
