About Me

I am a 16-year-old Visual Artist studying in 11th Grade. As an artist I raise funds and awareness for many burning issues for national and international organizations. My work is mostly about health, humanitarian and environmental issues. My paintings have been brought out as calendars, posters, postcards and greeting cards, the proceeds of all of which go towards the particular cause. A few of them have been brought out by UNESCO, UNICEF, UNEP, UN –ISDR, AAPOS etc., I have also had a few Art Auctions to raise funds for sensitive issues.

Art is a very powerful form of expression and through this medium I seek to reach out to the masses both educated as well as illiterate. I give regular speeches at different forums and try raise awareness among people about the ill effects of being ignorant and spread a bit of knowledge at the same time.
One of my projects; the auction of my artwork for charity raised funds for about 20 free kidney dialyses, but it’s harder to quantify how many people my artwork would have reached out to for my other projects.

Some of the causes for which I have worked for are – Anti-whaling, the conservation of endangered species of Animals like Westland gorillas, tigers, Olive Ridleys and many more. Conservation of marine bio diversity is another issue that I have devoted my efforts on. An incident that’s etched in my memory forever is the time when a professor of a university came up to me and told me that he was determined to quit smoking after seeing my poster on the ill effects of smoking.

My Venture

My artwork helps raise awareness and funds globally. My grandmother who runs a trust for multiple challenged children inspired me and made me realize how lucky I was to be a normal person and after this I have tried to reach out to everyone through my artwork. I would like to be known as a artist who spreads a good message with her brush. My artwork is brought out as various merchandises like T-shirts, Mugs, Trays, Water Bottles, Calendars, Post cards, Greeting cards, Note cards etc.,

My Product is my artwork, which sells to make money for organizations.

And my future plans would be to fund my college education along with making enough profit to fund future campaigns and projects to benefit a number of people.
