Each of us can contribute to make life better for everyone and many people around Asia are contributing their part to slving social and environmental issues. But more people need to join in and be inspired to take actions. Ideals Creatives supports NGOs to communicate their messages and issues in an creatie way to the people, so that more people find out about causes and how to support the NGOs.
About Us
About Daniel
I'm Daniel Gabriel Matutina people call me Dan for short. I’m from Quezon City, Philippines. I love designing for good, that's the main reason why I decided to become a social entrepreneur. I want to make a difference through design and creativity. I love designing, doodling, reading books, surfing the internet & playing video games. I also bend forks into bracelets, that’s why my online name is Twistedfork. Aside from design, I also like science and technology. I love coffee and I love talking to people and sharing ideas with them. Every Tuesdays and Thursdays I lecture Graphic Design at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts. I find the interaction with the students interesting.
About Dang
I am Dang Sering, an artist and entrepreneur, and I’m passionate about passionate people. I became an entrepreneur because there are a lot of amazing individuals and organizations working hard to make the world a better place, and so I want to help tell their stories in a way that will capture people's imaginations and inspire them to take action. I like looking for stories well told, visiting museums & galleries, checking out designs in advertising, print and packaging, and learning more about how people connect to ideas. In my free time, I write, illustrate, surf the web and bookstores looking for lovely images and poetry.
About Bernise
I am Bernice de Leon, a graphic designer and social entrepreneur from the Philippines. I enjoy outdoor and travel photography, love exploring materials and tools, and I get excited when ideas come to life. I love to travel and experience new adventures. I like crafting and creating things, doodling, sketching, and taking lots of photos that's why I studied at the College of Fine Arts in the University of the Philippines and majored in Visual Communication. In my free time, I watch anime/cartoons, movies and tv series, play wii, and surf the net. I'm a visual communicator, and with Ideals I am able to do what I love and help others at the same time. I'm an avid advocate for environmental causes and believe that we should protect and preserve the balance of nature.
About Marielle
I’m Marielle Nadal, a 28-year-old writer and graphic designer from the Philippines. Before starting Ideals Creatives with four of my friends, I worked for a number of non-profits, doing communications and marketing work. I majored in Visual Communication under the Fine Arts program at the University of the Philippines in Diliman. It was in University where I realized that the field that I wanted to carve a niche in was one wherein I could somewhat “marry” creativity and social development. In social development, I believe that each of us can contribute to make life better for everyone. I am inspired to act, and do what I can, out of being able to imagine, and thus hope for a life that works for myself, and for the people around me. I discovered that that, together with applying creativity was what made me happiest. As a trained designer, I figured that perhaps the best way I could make a difference was through the manner I was most familiar with.
I became an entrepreneur because I find that it is in this position wherein I have the most flexibility to create. Together with friends with whom I share passions with, I realize that all that is needed to actually do something is to think it, be committed to see it through, and to have fun while working at it. I find seeing visions actualized, and the results of endeavors incredibly rewarding. For me, passionate, enthusiastic, and committed people are very inspiring.
I am also enthusiastic about other creative pursuits, such as crafts, and writing poetry and children’s stories. I enjoy outdoor activities, taking photographs, and traveling. Our Venture
Our venture started from a “wouldn’t-it-be-great-if-idea” that we had when we were college students. We enjoyed creating our own advocacy campaigns for our editorial class. Then we thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if we put up a design agency that will specifically cater to the needs of NGOs?” Back then, we imagined to have that ‘design agency for NGOs’ sometime when we’re all retired and probably looking for fulfillment. Well, an opportunity came and we grabbed it. We got a grant to start-up our own social enterprise, and Ideals Creatives was born last 2006.
We started Ideals Creatives, Inc to help cause driven organizations in telling their good stories to the world. We provide communications strategies, branding, design, and audiovisual materials nto mission-based organizations. We started Ideals so that we can increase and enhance the impact of campaigns and causes – knowing that effective design and communications strategies can inspire and influence people to take action.
We also have our own projects like Oneline, Pecha Kucha manila an Design to Make a Difference. In the future, we plan to make Ideals as a think tank for social communications & design.
